Davenport Dominates March Madness for $12,000 Windfall!

The Double L Motorsports team secured their fourth triumph of the young 2019 racing season on Sunday afternoon, March 24 at the renowned Cherokee Speedway in Gaffney, South Carolina! Jonathan Davenport knocked down the quickest time overall of the 30 entrants during Southern All Stars Dirt Racing Series (SAS) qualifying to earn Fast Time honors and later scored the victory in heat race action. After starting the 60-lap 'March Madness' main event from the pole position, Jonathan took the lead on the second circuit and led the remainder of the feature distance to bag the $12,000 payday over Ross Bailes, Jimmy Owens, Michael Page, and David Breazeale!

A day earlier on Saturday, March 23, the #49 team was in the pit area at Smoky Mountain Speedway in Maryville, Tennessee for the annual running of the 'Tennessee Tipoff.' The World of Outlaws Morton Buildings Late Model Series presided over the single-day shootout in the Volunteer State, which drew 33 entrants to vie for the $12,000 top prize. JD once again posted the fastest lap during qualifying before slipping back to third in his loaded heat race. The Blairsville, Georgia star was then able to pick off four competitors during the 60-lapper to claim a solid sixth place performance. Jonathan Davenport and Double L Motorsports returned to the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series scene on March 15-16, as the national touring series schedule heated back up with a pair of $12,000 to win programs in the states of Ohio and Indiana. Following a rain-out of the annual 'Buckeye Spring 50' during qualifying on Friday night at Atomic Speedway in Alma, Ohio, the dirt-slinging action quickly shifted to the legendary Brownstown Speedway in Brownstown, Indiana on Saturday evening for the 22nd edition of the 'Indiana Icebreaker.' Jonathan laid down the second quickest time in Group A during qualifying before running second in his stacked heat race. The current LOLMDS point leader then drove past four competitors during the 50-lapper to secure a strong third place podium effort behind only victor Brandon Sheppard and runner-up Devin Moran! DIRTcar Nationals Nightly Results from Volusia
(February 15, 2019)
The penultimate event of the 2019 'DIRTcar Nationals' at Volusia Speedway Park took center stage in the Dirt Late Model world tonight and the World of Outlaws Morton Buildings Late Model Series presided over another $10,000 to win spectacular. Jonathan Davenport laid down the second quickest time in Group A during qualifying before picking up a victory in heat race action. After drawing the sixth starting spot prior to the 50-lap feature, JD was battling for a top five finish late in the distance when he was caught up in a wreck on lap 39. Jonathan was unfortunately forced to retire from the race with damage and was relegated to a nineteenth place effort. The #49 team then opted to leave the Barberville, Florida facility and will not compete in tomorrow's finale.

(February 14, 2019) Valentine's Day for the #49 team was headlined by another $10,000 to win World of Outlaws Morton Buildings Late Model Series shootout tonight at Volusia Speedway Park in Barberville, Florida. Jonathan Davenport timed in fifth quickest in Group B during qualifying and later placed second in his heat race. The Blairsville, Georgia star then vaulted all the way up to second in the running order of the 50-lapper before eventually fading to a thirteenth place showing.

(February 13, 2019) The World of Outlaws Morton Buildings Late Model Series returned to competition tonight at Volusia Speedway Park and a $10,000 top prize was on the line for the stellar 44 car field. Jonathan Davenport - making his first appearance at the Daytona Beach-area oval this week - qualified thirteenth fastest in Group B during time trials before grabbing the fourth and final transfer spot through his stacked heat race. JD then rolled off from the outside of the seventh row in the 50-lap contest and charged up to fifth to finish behind only victor Brandon Sheppard, Don O'Neal, Josh Richards, and Chase Junghans!

Bubba Army Winter Nationals Rained Out

A $10,000 to win throwdown at Bubba Raceway Park in Ocala, Florida was scheduled for tonight to wrap up the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series portion of "Speedweeks" in Georgia and Florida. However, the annual 'Bubba Army Winter Nationals' was rained-out shortly before hot laps started and the program, which was set to be highlighted by a 50-lap main event, will not be rescheduled.

Jonathan Davenport capped off a stellar 'Winternationals' week at East Bay Raceway Park in Gibsonton, Florida tonight by capturing his third Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series triumph! Jonathan posted the fourth quickest time in Group A during the qualifying session and later bagged his fifth heat race win of the busy week. JD then started the 50-lap grand finale from the inside of the second row and led the feature on three different occasions (laps 34-35, 40, 45-50) to pick up the exciting victory. (February 8, 2019) "Superman" Jonathan Davenport recorded his second win of the busy week at East Bay Raceway Park in Gibsonton, Florida tonight, as he emerged victorious in front of a huge crowd and the live MAVTV television cameras! Jonathan stopped the clock third quickest in Group A during qualifying and scored yet another heat race win. After leading the first fourteen circuits in the A-Main from the pole position, JD grabbed the point back for good on the 38th lap. (February 7, 2019) The fourth leg of the 43rd annual 'Winternationals' greeted Double L Motorsports tonight at East Bay Raceway Park and another $7,000 paycheck was on the line for the cars and stars racing with the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series. In qualifying at the Gibsonton, Florida oval tonight, Jonathan Davenport rocked the 1/3-mile track second quickest in Group B before securing another heat race triumph. After rolling off from the outside of the second row in the 40-lapper, Jonathan dropped back to as far as twelfth in the running order before making a charge on the topside of the racetrack. JD was bidding for the lead late in the distance before an incident with leader Tyler Erb on lap 36 caused his #49 machine to back hard into the wall between turns three and four. The Blairsville, Georgia ace then limped home with a disappointing fifteenth place effort.

(February 6, 2019) Jonathan Davenport, of Blairsville, Georgia, picked up his first victory of the young 2019 racing season tonight in the third round of the 'Winternationals' at East Bay Raceway Park in Gibsonton, Florida! Jonathan knocked down the third fastest time in Group A during the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series qualifying session prior to picking up the victory in heat race action. After starting fifth on the grid in the 40-lap headliner, JD blitzed to the front, led laps 12-23, and eventually took the point for good on the 26th circuit. (February 5, 2019) Another $5,000 windfall was up for grabs with the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series tonight at East Bay Raceway Park. The Gibsonton, Florida facility drew a stout 56 car field and Jonathan Davenport started his night off by clicking off the twenty-fourth quickest lap in Group A during time trials. Jonathan then blitzed forward in his heat race to grab the third and final transfer spot. After starting nineteenth on the feature grid, JD worked his way forward to as high as eighth in the 30-lapper before settling for an eleventh place showing.

(February 4, 2019) The 43rd annual 'Winternationals' kicked off tonight at East Bay Raceway Park in Gibsonton, Florida and 53 competitors showed up to do battle for the $5,000 winner's check. Jonathan Davenport posted the fourth quickest time in Group B during Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series qualifying before scoring a heat race triumph. After starting the 30-lap main event from the outside of the front row and leading the first eight circuits, JD slipped back in the top ten and eventually crossed underneath the checkers in the eighth finishing position.

Another $12,000 payday was on the line with the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series tonight in the 'Super Bowl of Racing' finale at Golden Isles Speedway. A stout 37 car field signed into the pit area at the Brunswick, Georgia-area oval and a large crowd was on hand to witness all of the ground-pounding action. Jonathan Davenport laid down the quickest lap in Group B during qualifying before placing second in heat race action. After rolling off from the outside of the third row in the 50-lapper, the Blairsville, Georgia superstar steered his #49 machine to a stellar runner-up performance behind only race winner Earl Pearson, Jr.!

(February 1, 2019) The 2019 edition of the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series season got underway tonight in the 'Super Bowl of Racing' opener at Golden Isles Speedway near Brunswick, Georgia. Most of the $12,000 to win racing program was completed this evening, but the final B-Main and the 50-lap headliner were pushed to Saturday afternoon after inclement weather struck the southern Georgia speedplant. Jonathan Davenport, in his first race in defense of his LOLMDS Championship, timed in sixth fastest in Group A during qualifying prior to running second in his stacked heat race. During the daytime main event, JD started seventh on the feature grid and rallied up to the second spot before settling for a solid third place effort behind only victor Tyler Erb and runner-up Earl Pearson, Jr.

"Superman" Jonathan Davenport and the Double L Motorsports team, following a short off-season, will jump back into racing action this upcoming weekend (February 1-2) in the annual 'Super Bowl of Racing' at Golden Isles Speedway near Brunswick, Georgia! Jonathan will once again vie for the coveted Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series Championship in 2019 and will look to defend his crown against the stellar series regulars.
