JD Wins Dream
Prelim; Lands on Podium in $100k Finale!
10, 2018) One of the sport's richest events was
held from June 7-9 at the hallowed Eldora Speedway in Rossburg,
Ohio, as 78 competitors converged at the 1/2-mile speedplant to
do battle in 'Dream XXIV.' Following a washout on Thursday night,
both preliminary shows were held on Friday. In the $5,000 to win
prelim during the afternoon, Jonathan Davenport won his heat race
and later led all 25 circuits in the main event to capture his tenth
triumph of 2018 over Don O'Neal, Josh Richards, Shannon Babb, and
Hudson O'Neal! Later that evening, Jonathan placed second in his
heat race prior to taking the lead on several different occasions
throughout the middle stages of the 25-lap sprint and eventually
wound up a strong runner-up behind only $10,000 victor Earl Pearson,
Jr. On Saturday, JD ran second in his stacked heat race before leading
laps 9-35 and the 39th circuit of the 'Dirt Late Model Dream,' but
could not record the $100,000 payday in the 100-lap affair, as he
crossed underneath the checkers in the third position behind only
race winner Scott Bloomquist and runner-up Dale McDowell. Full results
from the soggy weekend at the "Big E" can be accessed
online at www.eldoraspeedway.com.
Fourth in Prelim; Finishes Eighth in Show-Me 100
27, 2018) The Memorial Day holiday weekend took
Jonathan Davenport and the Double L Motorsports team to the state-of-the-art
Lucas Oil Speedway in Wheatland, Missouri from May 24-26 for the
26th edition of the Lucas Oil 'Show-Me 100.' Things kicked off at
the 3/8-mile oval with a pair of $6,000 to win preliminary programs.
On Thursday night, Jonathan won his heat race but was unfortunately
involved in a lap 26 caution and wound up nineteenth in the final
rundown of the 45-lapper. At Wheatland on Friday evening, Jonathan
placed second in his heat race before climbing past eight competitors
in the 40-lap main event to record a strong fourth place effort
behind only victor Jimmy Owens, Brian Shirley, and Scott Bloomquist!
By virtue of racking up the ninth best point total
during preliminary action, JD rolled off from the inside of the
fifth row in the Saturday's 100-lap headliner, which once again
carried a $30,000 payday. The Blairsville, Georgia star had a solid
run and found himself inside of the top ten through much of the
'Show-Me 100' before winding up in the eighth finishing position.
Jonathan still finds himself on top of the Lucas Oil Late Model
Dirt Series point standings exiting the holiday weekend. Full results

6, 2018) Current Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series
point leader Jonathan Davenport claimed his eighth feature win of

Knoxville 50' at the bad-fast Tazewell Speedway in Tazewell, Tennessee!
Jonathan knocked down the eighth fastest lap overall during the
qualifying session before running third in his stacked heat race.
After rolling off from the outside of the fourth row in the 50-lap

position to take advantage of leader Jimmy Owens' blown motor on
lap 46. The Blairsville, Georgia superstar then led the final handful
of laps to pocket the $12,000 windfall ahead of Tim McCreadie, Don
O'Neal, Dennis Erb, Jr., and Earl Pearson, Jr.!
Saturday's annual running of the 'Ralph Latham Memorial'
at Florence Speedway in Union, Kentucky was then unfortunately washed
out by heavy afternoon rainfall. The $12,000 to win showdown has

'North/South 100' weekend at the 1/2-mile speedplant. Full results
